Sexy marketing.. but with men?
Saw an interesting tweet today from Matthew Kobach, showing the ads from Khloe Kardashian advertising for Febreze with that of a gentlemen advertising Dude Wipes.
I personally don’t understand it. So Khloe is supposed to be sexy, and she is using her sex appeal to advertise… Febreze? Ok, fine. I’ll give it to Febreze that they wanted her exposure to sell and the pose was just a bonus because Khloe doesn’t have anything else in her arsenal to sell.
But why is dude using the same pose to sell Dude Wipes? Is it an intentional parody? Is parody an effective selling tool? What if it’s not funny because the original ad was bland?
What do you think? Would you purchase either of these products on the strength of the ads alone?
